Wish we knew what the new expansion was going to be earlier, this would have been a great challenge to go with it.

Nothing stopping us having a V2 when it comes out. Sounds like it would make a huge difference to the challenge

I was just thinking about that. We will need to see how the expansion changes game play, if it changes play much a it may perfect for a different challenge.

Week 8, day 2 and 19 opportunities.

I'm a little disappointed tbh, I was all done on week 7 , day 7 but just couldn't get the promotion, not sure why (without giving too much away, I've got level 10 promotions in the same way before but it just wouldn't do it this time) but I missed 1 of my promotions along the way and if I'd got that I might have made week 7 day 6. Annoying how these things can work out, because of the timing 1 missed promotion could have cost my 3 days instead of just one.

Well done, Nancy. Hot score. Yeah, your endgame misfortune sounds identical to what happened to me.

I'm finally done. Linda's fourth career was completed Week 8, Day 4. Paul finished his only one day earlier, so my plan to have them finish around the same time worked pretty well. They completed 18 opportunities.

Welcome to the Forum Anri! Introduce yourself here - http://www.carls-sims-3-forum.com/index.php/topic,28.0.html

I am on week 3 day 5 and both Elena and Harry are on Level 9 of their careers and it just turned weekend! I am lagging behind a bit but I hope my strategy works out smoothly! Its acctualy scary how much money they make from the trait I gave them, they have come from 990 all the way up to $20,000 and hardly spend mor ethan two days on a level. Their adopted son is an A again after he aged up into teen, adopting him also keeps me busy whilst his Parents are skilling or woking.

Currently Week 2 Day 5, My 2 Sims have topped their first career path  with 2 opportunities completed. They are now switching to their 2nd career path . I intended to do this without vacations and Mid-Life Crisis.

Shihuacao, welcome to the forums. You obviously missed this rule...

  • Stating your intent to participate is mandatory. You will be added to the leaderboard. Simply lurking and posting final results is bad sportsmanship and not allowed.

You needed to be added to the leaderboard before starting. I'll cut you some slack this time and go ahead and will add you, but please state your intent to participate in future challenges. You also revealed way too much information on your strategy and I had to edit your post. Please read the rules more carefully. Thanks, and good luck with the rest of this event.

You should edit the rule to it is clear on that right now the example is "Simply lurking and just posting final results is bad sportsmanship." It does not preclude giving it a try, getting starting, and stating intent as soon as you know you really want to give it a full go. If you want to change it to:

"Stating your intent to play is mandatory. When you request to be added to the leader board you may start."

That would be fine. As the rule reads now I hava considered starting the first couple weeks of BBII before announcing intent. I am worried  BBII it will end up like BBI where I said I would give it a go, and could not bring myself to play The Sims 3 till I gave up on BBI. (Yes, I know I have some issues). I need to know if I can do this, if not I should not even consider BBII.

You make some good points, meamalso2. I'll try and clarify the participation rule.

EDIT: Okay, I think (hope) things are a little clearer. Let me know.

How do you guys keep track time of time? I've been notating everytime Wednesday (my starting date) goes by, but I'm afraid that my absent-mindedness will cause me to miss one.

Anri, when you hover over the clock it will give you the week and day.

Metropolis Man- It is clear to me now, but I think it may still be confusing to newcomers. If you used "Stating your intent to participate, before you begin, is mandatory." there would be no question. Then you could still allow practice before opting in (unless you don't want that).

Well, I slightly modified rule #2, so that should be clear as well.

Oh, did we have to start a brand new game for this? I like seeing my other Sims around town and where the game takes them so I used the game that I've been playing.

You needed to create 2 fresh Sims for this challenge in a new neighborhood...

  • Create 2 Young Adult Sims (Long Lifespan). Their relationship/gender does not matter. Having children is fine, but you cannot switch Active Households in the Edit Town screen.

If that's not what you did, then you'll need to delete your file and start over.

I made two brand-new Sims, but I've been playing them in a neighborhood I've played before so my timer is at like 40 weeks. I'm not switching households. The rules don't say that it needs to be a new neighborhood but apparently everyone else picked up on that...

I apologize for not making that clear in the rules. I will do so immediately. However, you cannot continue with that file. It has to be a new neighborhood.

Well, at least I don't have to worry about keeping track of the dates anymore.

Look, I don't want to see you quit. But, rules are rules and again, I'm sorry that I wasn't clear. It has to be a new neighborhood so everyone participating is on a level playing field. I'll leave you in the table for now in case you decide to give it another shot.
