Can I get something clarified for my own interest:  this challenge is called "Career Couples ...".  Does that mean your 2 young adult sims need to be a "couple" as in married couple?  Or is it just that they are a couple of sims, as in two.  Can they be other kinds of relationships - sibs or roommates?

The relationship between your Sims can be whatever you choose. And they don't need to be the traditional male/female married couple. I suppose I just went with "Career Couple" in the title just because it sounded catchy. :)

EDIT: I clarified the CAS portion of the rules.

I'm in!  :)

This should be a fun one!  Hmm... gonna take a bit of planning though.  Especially figuring out what traits would be good for 4 different careers!

Okay, gotcha on the board. Don't forget about Mid-Life Crisis if you want to go that route mid way through. I mention that because I didn't want anyone thinking they are locked to their original traits for the whole challenge.

Oooh, thanks!  I would have used the same ones the whole time. :P

I think I finally have my initial strategy down — at least the first two career choices for each of my Sims. I also have a decent trait selection that should serve that entire time period. After that I have no idea what I'll do. Wing it I guess. I'm off to create John and Jane Kah-Rear. They're going to put the "rear" back in career.

Please add me to the board Metro. I've not even started the 'Upgrade' challenge yet, as I've been confined to bed after routine surgery, but now I'm on the mend it will give me something to occupy my mind. The last couple of weeks have been hard without my sims :'( I really need to get myself a laptop. Anyhow, good luck to everyone in this challenge, and well done to everyone who's completed the upgrade one too! I'm back, and I'm raring to go!

(This is Cassi's sister, she broke her wrist and thumb today)

Cassi told me to tell you that she is doing this challenge if it means strapping a pencil to her tounge so she can use a computer. (Personally, I think she could just use her left hand ::))

Seriously, get well, Cassi. And thanks for reminding me why I don't have dogs. Thank goodness no 60-pound dog would be able to knock me down. Not unless it was launched out of a cannon or something.

Sadie, my rocket dog, would give you a black eye in about 2.5 seconds Metro.  She jumps straight up and pokes me in the glasses constantly, hence the nickname rocket dog.

Get well soon Cassi.

Wow, I would LOVE to see that! Lol, but yeah, while she could just use her left hand, I have to admit that will be kind of hard, especially if she is right-handed.

I'm a left-handed writer, but a right-handed mouser.  If she uses the mouse left handed you might want to change the mouse pointer settings in the computer so its a bit easier for you.  I never knew those existed until recently when I came across a left handed mouser.

I have a question. If my sim reached Emperor of Evil and Master Thief, does it count one or two careers?

I have a question . If my sim reached Emperor of Evil and Master Thief , do it counts one or two careers?

The answer is one of the rules:

    • If either Sim chooses a two-tract career, only one of the tracts can be maxed.

I'm in. Just finished the nectar challenge (well time has now stopped for my couple, but I haven't begun to sell all that nectar yet :o )
I'm gonna have to look into this one a bit as I'm a little confused about two tract careers. I don't usually play careers with my sims very much (again a challenge getting me playing in a way I don't usually play  :) )
But it's almost 11pm here and I'm just a bit tired, so research will have to wait for another day.

    Hi everyone  ;D

Congrats Kat on your pregnancy and hopefully it'll go well. Pity life can't be more like the sims and pregnancies just last a few days. Does anyone else feel that way too?

I'm so happy mid life crisis isn't banned. I was kinda banking on that one to help them go forward.

One question I have is if they can use the 'work from home' option if they get the workaholic trait. I think if they can have as many holidays as possible, then this should be ok. Just double checking though. ;)

I couldn't agree more (speaking for my wife of course!).

If you're asking if "Work from home" is okay, yes it is.

I dunno, my pregnancy was hard but I still enjoyed it.  Mine was cut short due to one of my babies growth, and I kind of wish it had gone on longer.

Metro - in that case, count me in  :). Oh and I really thought you were wishing you had better pregnancies. Because you know, men get preggers all the time *cough*

Arla - I get what you mean... my experience only goes as far as Sims 3 pregnancies and child-rearing, but I always tell my Sims "you're the ones that wanted the kids. I don't care of you're sleepy. FEED THE BABY!"

OK, a few questions before this starts.

maxing a career - does that just mean reaching level 10 or is there something else we must do once at level 10?

I'm also a little confused with the scoring. This is like a race if I'm not mistaken - the quicker we finish, the higher up the ladder we are - right? So then does the following mean .25 days are added for each career opportunity we do? (I think I got confused by the term that it knocks off .25 days)

Career Opportunities — This is a bonus reducer based on how many total Career Opportunities your two Sims accomplish. Each completed Career Opportunity knocks off .25 days from your Grand Slam score.

Looking forward to this one (as I have all of them so far) as I don't often pursue careers to their max.
I'm now looking over the careers and I think I know who will do what, just need to decide what order.
