Add me to the list of "couldn't finish on times."  It was fun, my couple was just finishing career #3 when time ran out.  Think I was around week 10, so not like I was going to place spectacularly or anything.  Think I spent too much time on WA vacation.  It didn't affect my sims in terms of weeks to get promoted, but it definitely took up my real world time that I could have been slave driving them to go to work!

Looking forward to the next challenge. Thanks!

Scott

Another fun 2010 Tournament Challenge is in the books. Despite the fact that I needed to axe quite a few players off the final leaderboard just now, 29 participants took part which is just fantastic.

Congrats to Nancy for a big win! Nancy, look for a brief interview from me today via PM for the Hall of Fame. My thanks, as always, to all participants. Carl and I will be updating the World Ranking as well this week with this new data.

Between being busy IRL and getting sidetracked in WA content, I wasn't able to complete this challenge on time.   :-[

;) (It was my 2nd sims 3rd career and she got the no go to work bug and I didn't realise till like 4 days later!)

Since several members had discussed the criminal career and the bug with it just before I started the challenge, I avoided that particular career.  I had even considered doing that one since it would have been easy since I had just played a criminal a couple weeks prior.  So glad I avoided that pitfall.

Eecks! I came in last! Oh well! It was that stupid Sports career that set me back with not work hard choice it took me two work days to get a promotion each time. Otherwise I think I could have been faster. Once I had the Criminal career bug but only one day so not bad. But I learned! Congrats Nancy!

Heh. Yeah, I mentioned in the strategy thread that the Sports Career was my major blunder too. Feel better?  ;D

I'm glad I chose not to do the Criminal career. Aside from the bug, I was worried that getting arrested and thrown in jail would interfere with promotions. I also managed to avoid the Sports career, even though it was part of my original plan.

I chose all of my careers before I started the challenge. Paul was going to focus on athletic and logic skills (Special Agent, Medical, Military, Sports) while Linda concentrated on charisma and relationships with co-workers (Culinary, Symphonic Music, Journalism, Politics). I also decided that whoever was lagging behind after three careers was going to switch to Business for their fourth. I knew from my Apocalypse Challenge that an ambitious, workaholic schmoozer could reach the top of the Business career in less than two weeks. I hoped this would increase my chances of both of them finishing at the same time. It worked out pretty well as they both finished their final careers only one day apart.

That actually did make me feel better. That a pro like you Metro could have that same problem actually helps me feel a lot better! It was fun anyways!
