Yep......her name is Simba. She is a spoiled little princess and has me wrapped around her paws. Hubs picked her out at the shelter and we have had her for three years. She is a lovely girl.....very talkative and affectionate.....and if she likes you she will give you kitty kisses.

It's been 15 minutes and I still cant open it. I found The Sims file in My Documents and deleted all my CC but no luck yet. Next is to delete all my backups and saved games should I do it?

Have you tried completely shutting down and rebooting? This discussion belongs in the tech section, so if you need further assistance, please ask there.

Time for a topic: Does anyone have a cat. Cats are awesome.

I LOVE cats, even the big kitties, obviously you can tell by my member name. But there is only one cat who has his paws wrapped around my heart and that is my black cat named Bagheera, named after the black panther on Disney's "The Jungle Book". He was a shelter cat and we adopted him when he was a little kitten. He is now approx. 10yrs old. He is very friendly and affectionate and full of personality. Most everybody who visits threatens to "catnap" him...lol...he is definitely one of a kind.
We also have 3 dogs... 2 beagles, Macy and her puppy Alpha, who we also call Bud, and a Yorkshire/Jack Russell terrier mix named Sam.  That's all of my furry family members.

And Thanks for the Babble Thread.....this should be a lot of fun getting to know each other better!

Dogs constantly scratch at the door.

In other totally unrelated news, my game is now playable, except I have to reinstall WA.

I agree!  We have two Australian Cattle Dogs.  They're big, they live in the house, and they're currently on a diet because they're spoiled and fat.

They follow me everywhere around the house and are my constant companions, whether I want them to be or not.  There are plenty of days when they get on my nerves and I threaten to get rid of them.  In addition to the dogs, I also have twin 2.5 year olds, so my days are very busy and I often think I just would rather be pet free.  But then they look at me with their puppy eyes and wag their little tail stumps and I just sort of give up and keep em. lol!

I've read very interesting theories as to how animals became domesticated in the first place. Because if you think about it — it's kind of interesting and almost bizarre how humans wound up essentially forcing wild animals to live with them. The main theory that I've read that seems to make the most sense is that thousands of years ago when humans hunted in packs there were often wolves in the nearby area. The two species eventually figured out that if they worked cooperatively instead of against each other, they'd have more success in bringing down very difficult large game like water buffalos. So, as time went on wolves and man sort of ended up living together. I suppose a similar argument could be made for how cat domestication started since cats are distant relatives to the big cats. Who knows?  :)

But, there are no animals in casa de Metro. 3 girls and my wife are plenty. Claire was potty trained last summer and considering I had already gone through that experience two times before, there is no way on God's green earth I am going to pick up after a dog. I grew up with a dog, but just have absolutely no desire to have one again. My father passed away 10 years ago and within a week, my mom got a dog. It's a wonderful dog with a super disposition and gets along so well with all of my kids when we visit. But, that hasn't influenced me at all. Maybe I'll change my mind some day.  :D

If schipperkes had been around way back then, I suspect they would have chosen us because they were looking for good servants.  This was written of the breed in 1885:  "He knows the way of the house, interferes in everything going, and finishes by persuading himself that it is he who directs the whole."  It's still a good description of them.

I am presently owned by 4 schipperkes, 2 of whom were rescues.  I never set out to have 4 dogs - it just happened.  But I have a friend who has 12 by last count (all rescues).  These little black devils are a kind of addiction.

I live by myself so no pets yet.

But my family has an old mix breed female dog that is turning 14 this summer, old but in good health.
We also have two cats, male and female, also mixed breeds that are very cute.

I hear ya!  In our house the dogs came first, they were kind of like our practice children.  I'm pretty confident that if children had come first we wouldn't have had any dogs!
