Solace Snugabunny Deluxe Baby Swing
« on: November 19, 2011, 11:43:02 AM »
I'm surprised this wasn't already posted about but since it isn't I thought I would share.

I bought The Solace Snugabunny Deluxe Baby Swing from the Sims Store, and for a mere $60/swing, your sims can put their baby/toddler inside and turn it on, and voila, your baby/toddler needs will ALL slowly increase.  You don't even need to get them a crib anymore!  This is the best thing over at the store if you ask me.

Yes, you can just leave it there.  I wouldn't put it on fast though, cause it says that it can give a negative moodlet that way.

Yes, Sometimes when I do leave it and it stops swinging my other sims put it on fast which gets really annoying.

When I read the swing increases the needs bars I had to have it.  I may even try triplets, maybe.

I just brought the swing in the Fun for kids of all Ages Collection. I can't believe I spent 2,000 Simpoints just on the kids  ::)

I hope it's allowed in challenges to do involving nooboos - it'd make it a lot easier! ;D

Just the swing itself is 500 simpoints.  The collection comes with a bunch of stuff for four times that.  The swing itself can be found here.

Haha, yes I've read that part, but it surprises me. Is there something which you can see that feeds the baby or toddler automatically?

No.  They're need bars just fill up while they're in it so there is no visual to them eating as far as I can tell.  If you want pictures of that, you have to do it outside the swing.

Just don't turn your back on your adult Sims with a baby in the swing because they seem DETERMINED to turn the thing on fast  if you're not careful which makes the babies sick and they scream and cry and can't be consoled and all their needs go down to yellow.

This swing could be very useful if you were using a babysitter. Just pop the little one in and have their needs rise rather than being ignored by the babysitter, and ending up in a foul mood. Hopefully the babysitter wouldn't mess with the settings, or take the nooboo out.

There are game glitches with some of the premium items, Magic Book, Uber Toilet, Chimes.  I wonder if the swing will also cause game glitches with Pets?  I hated to have to uninstall my premium stuff so haven't bought the swing yet but it really sounds super.

Does this take a really long time to increase the needs?
Edit: All of my toddlers needs are just going down like normal and I have it on slow speed.

Am I doing something wrong? Cause this seems like a total rip off to me.

Edit again: its working fine now.

Havent tried it on a baby yet but I can imagine that you could just up a baby in it then wall them up in a room for however many days baby stage is and never have to think about them

(I'll bring it back on topic  :P)

This is coming in very handy. Yeah, I got it. Well, a very nice someone from the official froums gave it to me and I am thankful to her for life.  ;D I haven't experienced any glitches, just that the babysitters put it on fast, or people in the household and the nooboo gets a Nauseous moodlet.
And does anybody know how to take it off without cheating? or what to do so it goes away?

you just have to pick them up and snuggle them and they are fine.. I put them right back in on slow.. I keep everyone away..

Haha, the best solutions are mostly simple. ;)
I've read things about putting little ones in this baby swing, on slow, and than lock the door behind you until they grow up...
Very, very child friendly indeed! :P

You can't really leave them locked in a room alone the whole time, can you? Don't you have to restart the swing?   Or are they just locking the door so no-one can change the swing to fast?

I'm pretty sure you can leave them in the swing the whole time or at least I did with the baby. I saw their needs go up regardless if the swing is going or not. And they are locking the door because sims have a tendency to turn the swing on fast making the child nauseous.

This swing has probably saved my sanity! I love playing houses with lots of children, and now I can just leave them there all day and my adult Sims can get stuff done...like sleeping! Worked great in my Dynasty and the last two saves I've had with triplets. If only I'd had this when I was playing the file with a single dad and seven kids...

I have to admit I like anything that makes babies more interactive. Prior to Generations, it was almost like having a wind-up doll that you couldn't let run down - every so often you go in, give a bottle, snuggle three times, and then put it in the crib and go back to whatever you were doing before, with occasional diaper changes to break up the routine. The stroller made that a little better, because the baby will wave and giggle while you push it. I picked up the swing but haven't had a chance to use it yet - I'm looking forward to more waving and giggling.

And watching, giving another form of adorable bonding. I really enjoy the swing as a way of rearing children, even if they do end up sometimes getting a little sick. The occaisonal adult in to cuddle them well is still probably less of a time investment than snuggle-snuggle-bottle-diaper-snuggle-crib....

The whole snuggle-bottle-diaper routine is the main reason why I rarely ever play families past one generation.
It just wasn't fun.  I love to see the whole sims genetics side of the game and wanted to try multiple generations but trying to get offspring from baby to child made me want to chew my own arm off just to have something to throw at the computer screen.

This one object totally changed my game.

I can now actually enjoy watching the children go up rather than dreading it and trying to find things to do in game that don't involve raising kids.  Best object ever.

It makes it so much easier with large families, you can just concentrate on getting toddlers skills done even if you have a baby or twin babies in the house, or another toddler.

I had parent working on skills and figured I would have them have a kid, maybe two, but no I got three T_T. So I was very happy with the swing and it helped me take care of the totdlers too. Just put two in the swing and teach the other one. I use it a lot and it makes simming life a lot easier.

Alright that sounds like a cheap commercial... Oh well it's true :P

ok, I've had this baby swing for awhile and never used it, I finally put it into my Sims house when baby arrived and all I can say is (so far) my new favorite item... its right up there with the climbing wall.  I put baby into it and her needs never move, they are always maxed, occasionally you swing it and the interactions are adorable (even the butler was in on the action!).  Shes always happy and smiling and giggling, instead of just a lump.

I hate the baby stage and usually change the aging to one day (If I had my way the babies would be born as toddlers.. I'd skip baby completely!)  this makes the babies almost playable!

Love it.

Had a go at the swing a few days ago, because I couldn't be bothered waiting till my legacy heir gets pregnant. :P I loaded up a new SV, got Claire Ursine and waited for her to give birth then tried it out and I love it - it really is brilliant! The interactions are the cutest thing ever, I'm going to be taking screenshots galore with this when I use it in the legacy. :P
