Metro, I think you're gonna have to allow the cheat, in these circumstances.

I already am, Kaitlin, and edited the rules yesterday. I just wanted to make absolutely sure that we weren't talking about "player error" resulting in dropped traits. That's obviously not the case with your feedback, so if anyone does encounter that bug during the challenge, they're free to use that cheat to correct the problem and quickly turn it off afterwards.

It happens even when the Toddler/Child "ages up well."  I thought it might be player error when I first heard about it,too, but it's happened to me several times and I'm positive I'm doing everything right.

Sometimes it is player error but a lot of the time it isn't, When I choose traits I select one and spend ages checking for another. Come to think of it, it is almost impossible to not choose a trait for a sim by accident, because a message come sup saying this sim still has empty trait slots or something, so then it gives you a tick or cross options.

Well, everyone, we're drawing near to kickoff time. I'm very excited to get started. As always, it would be smart to reread the rules one more time before you begin just to make sure you're clear on everything.

Good luck everyone! Happy Woo Hooing.  ;D

Ok, I am in, I would've posted this sooner, but I was kind of nervous because I don't do challenges well, but I'm going to try this one. I hope I'm not to late to get into this challenge.

woot, Friday morning here. My couple Patricia and Robert Poole (named after friends we had when I was a kid- they had 6 kids) have just moved into a modest little house in a neighbourhood that I hope they will be happy to raise all their kids in.
I'm still not completely prepared for all the kids I hope they have, my test run with children wasn't too intense, but I'm just gonna jump in the deep end anyway and hope I don't sink  ;D

A reminder for those who may not be aware – a new patch was just released two days ago. You might want to make sure your game is up to date before starting the challenge.

Also, are we allowed to use the display case for transfiguration?

Indeed, being patched to the current release is a standing rule for all challenges.  Thanks, Cub.

is it too late to join? I've never done a challenge before. Do you have some way of checking or is it up to our honesty?

Thanks to insomnia, I have been playing since long before dawn.  My characters Hyacinth and Richard Bucket are having a hard time "Keeping up Appearances" (the name of the tv show, for those who aren't familiar with it).  The local psychiatric community is abuzz with news of an important new mental disorder:  Nooboomania, caused by having 6 toddlers in the house.  When the last 3 aged up a few minutes ago the parents were so distracted that they did nothing but pace up and down for almost 3 hours, totally refusing to change dirty diapers or do anything useful at all.  Two of the infants almost starved to death.  The other 3 children sat on the living room floor well past their bedtimes, with their needs plummeting.  I'm afraid these poor parents have gone right round the bend, and I'm about to follow them.  This is as far as I got with my 2 practice households before throwing in the towel.  I need a break ... a very long break!  Can anyone direct me to the Sharma Day Spa for a little Soothing Salvation?

Ha ha. I loved that, Schipperke. Stick with it. You're a good player. I haven't started yet because I'm finishing up an article for the Guide. I'll probably dive in tomorrow, so a little late for me. But, here's my game plan — only a few Sim days per real day. That's it. I'm taking this one real slow. It will be too intense otherwise.

That is SO funny!  Could you imagine Hyacinth with 6 children???  Poor Richard, that's all I have to say.  lol

At about 12:30am last night (this morning? whatever you want to call it) I was finally done wrapping presents for niece's birthday and I was faced with the decision to go to bed or start this challenge... I started the challenge. I created my family, Owen and Zoe Gilmore, moved them into a nice 2 bedroom house, and played all the way through the first birth.

However, not long after moving in I realized that I had picked the exact same house as the one I had for the first Baby Boomer challenge. And this challenge is starting out about the same as the last one. I'm having some bad flashbacks and I'm a little scared, but determined to conquer this challenge (and by conquer I mean finish).

Good luck to everyone! Have fun and hopefully we'll all keep our sanity!  :)

After all that drama, everyone in the household in serious need depletion, guess what Hyacinth decided she wanted?  To have another baby.  That woman really is dippy.

Seriously, watching Hyacinth and Richard pacing around while the children almost starved to death was not a lot of fun - and no way I could get those two to do anything.  Do the Challenge rules allow me to turn off free will?  "Hyacinth, this is your Maker speaking.  You will do as you're told!"

That's one of those unspoken rules, I guess. I don't think anyone has actually ever asked that. Does anyone really feel I need to state that you have to have freewill turned on? Has anyone ever felt that was optional? Let me know. As alway I want to keep the rules as brief as possible, so more additions is not what I want.

Well, no, I didn't think it was optional.  It was just painful watching the kids in trouble and not able to do anything about it.   Maybe it's my own fault for choosing these characters.  One of the kids (Onslow) won't do anything I tell him to do either.  They are too much like the originals!  It's scary.  ;)

I don't understand why the parents refused to obey the commands and wouldn't tend to the children.  Even without being told, I would think they'd feed and change diapers.

So this is not normal behaviour?  I never play children, so I don't know any better.  (After this experience, likely I will never play children again either).  All 3 of the infants had dirty diapers and by the time the parents finally snapped out of their fugue or whatever it was, two of the kids' hunger needs were orange.  The parents just kept pacing back and forth, each carrying one of the babies.  The good news is, now they have their 6 kids so we shouldn't have to go through this again, at least not for a while.  But I can't help wondering why it happened and what else those two may do.

maybe they couldn't get to the kids that needed attention. I know my baby room is quite crowded and sometimes my parents appear to refuse to do something, then I realize there is another child blocking their way.
