Oki thanks for all the answers now i know what to deal with and can go make my strategy :D

You're welcome. I just made the edits, so hopefully it's clearer. The important thing to remember is you don't get partial credit for the kids stuff. So, if you have a Child that does get on the Honor Roll, but never has a non-family member Friend before aging to Teen, then you would not receive any points for that Child in that stage of their life.

Also, with the edits I hope everyone knows that all of the kid's stuff stands on their own and does not need to be simultaneous accomplishments. For example, if your Teen gets the Good non-family member Friend at any time, then you're done with that. They don't have to have that requirement and the skill and the Honor Roll all at the same time. You still need to do all 3 to receive any credit — they just don't have to be simultaneous. I'm guessing it will probably end up being that way anyway just simply because the life stages are short, but it's still not a requirement to do all of them at once.

No. A Child can carry over a friend to the Teen stage and that counts as well. But, if the strength of the Friendship is just "Friend," then the Teen would need to boost it to Good Friend.

I don't know how this happened but this challenge is looking more and more attractive. I think I may need to go through a fair few tests to get the hang of it and I'll give you a shout when or if I want to give it a go.

This is my first challenge, so forgive the question, but what do we need to do to document our points for submission?

Also, is there any easy way to track the 50 days?

If you mean how do you keep organized, I offered a tip earlier in the thread.

EDIT: p.1 towards the bottom.

Also, is there any easy way to track the 50 days?

Just look at the game clock. The specific day that the challenge ends is noted in the rules.

Thanks!  I'm playing a practice game and I have to say, the hardest part is keeping track of which week I'm on.

Also wanted to clarify, I know that no cheats are allowed, but does that include not using testingcheatsenabled to workaround the dropped traits bug?  On my practice game half my kids had their third trait disappear on them.

I'm not aware of that bug. testingcheatsenabled is a cheat and banned like all other cheats.

I've had the dropped traits thing.  What happens is, the child or teenager has a birthday and you get the screen to choose the trait.  The trait is selected and accepted with the OK button.  But then the trait doesn't appear on that Sim's list of traits.  I've had it happen many times and normally close the game without saving so I can do the birthday again, which would definitely not be allowed in this challenge.

You may want to reconsider allowing testingcheats for this specific bug, Metro.

That happens to me as well! I think almost every child I've had has lost a trait. Very rarely do they end up with all five.

And I would like to join this challenge too!

Someone please walk me through exactly what one would do as a workaround. Be very specific.

1.  Enable testing cheats with ctrl+shift+C and "testingcheatsenabled true"
2.  Shift+click on the Sim missing the trait
3.  Select "Modify Traits for Active Sim"
4.  Add the missing trait from the list of traits
5.  Disable testing cheats with ctrl+shift+c and "testingcheatsenabled false"

I haven't tried this specifically on a Sim who is missing traits, but these are the steps to change traits and I think it would be the same.

Thank you, Pam. I will take it under consideration. The key thing is that anyone forced to use it would need to immediately disable the cheat after using it.

Definitely.  I agree about immediately disabling the testing cheats.  The missing trait doesn't happen all the time, but often enough that it's a bother and it could impact the challenge.  Sorry I didn't think about it when we were hashing out the rules.

Thanks for input on this, Pam. And thanks to everyone else as well...

Rules change
I did decide to edit the rules earlier this evening and allow the testingcheatsenabled true cheat for this single predicament — dropped traits. Pam's outlined instructions are to be followed to the letter by anyone needing to use it.

It works either way, so you are right.  If you are missing a trait, the cheat works as well.

What works either way?  I suddenly got confused.

Let me rephrase that, it works both ways, missing trait the cheat works or changing trait it works, sorry.

I would imagine it is just a bug, the traits are just gone.  My sims have quite a few friends in their relationship panel that only have three or four traits and they adult.

I've noticed this bug before.  It seems to only happen if a child doesn't "age up well".  I especially have issues with it when a baby is born and one trait is assigned while another is chosen by me.  The assigned trait is never actually given.  Ever since then I try to make sure my kids "age up well" because when I choose the traits I don't seem to have any problems.

Has anyone ever had this "bug" happen if a child does age up well? In other words, all their bars are green, the toddlers have learned all skills, etc...

I have - My toddler had learned every skill, had played all toys so got the bonus starts with the other skills, was always fed and watered on time :P And then i got the option to choose the Child trait, I would pick it, and then ... Nothing. It just wouldn't show up. I have used testingcheatsenabled to get this problem solved, but it is rather annoying. I've had it with children, teenagers, toddlers, yound adults, every age. Even when they are just born and i get the option to choose two traits. Say I choose Virtuoso and Artisitic. The game would then assign Brave and Athetlic or something to my sim!

Metro, I think you're gonna have to allow the cheat, in these circumstances.
