How to build a five level high home.
« on: January 02, 2012, 04:43:44 PM »
This Tutorial isn't difficult at all. Only you have to be precise in making it to work.
You only need the baseline for this to work.
Now, let's get started.

1 Build the foundation for your house.
2 Build the first four levels. Add a roof, if you like.

Now we are going to raise the foundation to the exact height of a wall.
3 Press Ctrl+shift+C to open op the cheat screen and type in: constrainfloorelevation false.
4 Build one closed square of four walls on the ground near you foundation.
5 In Build Mode, drag a floor from the second level of the square walls over the foundation. The activated cheat will now raise the foundation to the height of the wall.
6 Turn off the cheat by pressing Ctrl+shift+C and type in: constrainfloorelevation true.
7 Now remove the foundation and replace it with a normal wal.

And that's it. Easy as that. The reason for this to work is because a foundation is for the game just another level. It doesn't matter how high it is to be calculate as.

3 Press Ctrl+shift+C to open op the cheat screen and type in: testingcheatsenabled false.

I wonder "testingcheatsenabled" or "constrainfloorelevation" in this case? As long as I know, "constrainfloorelevation" usually used for split level and "testingcheatsenabled" is used to enable the "familyfunds", "mail-box cheats", "buydebugs"... I dont know it's gonna work with split level?

Unless you want to have some of the foundation level in the ground, why would you use the foundation instead of a normal floor? In game you can have five level made up of a number of combinations using all normal levels or nor al levels with foundations and/r friezes.

Can't everyone build 5 floors high? I was checking this for a tutorial and I can build 5 levels above ground.

Don't think you can put a roof on the fifth floor though, I don't think you can anyway. Not sure if you can with Leto's Tut either though.

You can put a roof on the fifth level. You had me worried for a second because I hadn't tested the roof for the tutorial, just the floor levels lol

What I was getting at is that using this tutorial Leto, at the end, you remove the foundation and replace it with normal walls, but you don't need to do all that with the foundation because you can just build up five floors of normal walls anyway!

lol, probably not. I think they may have raised the number of floor levels in either an EP or a patch. I had thought it was 4 levels up and 6 levels down, but when I tested it, it's 5 levels up and 4 levels down.

Okey, thanks for letting me know. Than I will move this to the graveyard.
