Fez, that's actually a very good idea to keep a backup for when a new patch comes out. I'm not familiar with the specific error you're getting, though. 
I did have one, it's just dated extremely long ago in my game, although it doesn't work either. My theory is that whatever file I attempt to try gets ruined by the new patch right away, which is really weird because I've played these files before. I have a new idea which is to just retry the backups, but rename them this time before I try them. Of course, this is hardly going to work, though, unless some miracle happens.

I'll try this tonight and if it doesn't work I'm just restarting straight away. I already have an idea for what will happen in my current legacy to lead to the new legacy.

Thanks though for your help, Frey and Moons! At least the crashing in my just-for-fun file stopped which means your suggestions must have worked, and it's just my legacy file that's the problem.
