Private Eye's Trophies
« on: February 03, 2012, 03:46:57 AM »
It seems that after patch 1.29 the case of "rogue cop" doesn't come out any more and [mod] doesn't have this case either.  I hope that someone can give me help since this is the only one case that may reward me the Epic Hero Medal or is there any other way to obtain this medal?  Thanks!

I would suggest editing your post to remove the explicit reference to any mods you are using.

Read the forum rules noted in my signature. :)

You'll also get a better response on this forum if you don't outright mention you are a mod-user.

I've edited the name of the mod out for you. I'm afraid I don't know how to get that opportunity, but if you really want the trophy you can always check the buydebug catalogue;)

We're not against mods, we just don't like to discuss them by name on this forum. Knowing someone's a mod-user can actually be helpful to us because it gives us a bit more background on their problems, but queries about specific mods should be directed to their creators and users anyway. Thanks for linking to the rules, twallan.  :)

I have noticed though that stating such tends to ruffle the feathers of the locals, and pulls the thread off-topic, which is why I suggested keeping it to themselves.

Since I believe they originally started this conversation on my forum, it would have probably been better if they kept the mod-related portion on my site, and asked for the vanilla assistance here.

I truly hope it doesn't ruffle the feathers to the point that a mod user gets less help than a player who doesn't use mods.  That's not what we want at all.  I think that most times when a member mentions specific mods, it's because it's a new member who just didn't look at the rules and once that's pointed out, all is well.  I agree with Ausette that knowing a player is using mods is better than not knowing.  Without that piece of information, we could be running in circles trying to figure out what the problem is.  But with that knowledge, we can at least tell the player that it could be a potential problem in addition to offering other suggestions.

And, Twallan, we appreciate your willingness to help on our Forum.  Your knowledge of the game is fantastic.  We also appreciate that you respect our rules about mentioning mods by name and linking, so thank you for that.  :)

Whoops, too far the other direction now. :)

Cool, I'll get the hang of working on this forum eventually.  Just going to take a bit more time to adapt.

Cheers. :)

Lol the irony of what you said twallan.
An nobody has answered the original question yet. I forget what is the case like and what are you stuck on?

Right, right, my bad. :)

I believe imsim is attempting to actually spawn the "Rogue Cop" opportunity to begin with, and is having troubles doing so.

There are three requirements to spawn the first opportunity in that chain :
1) You must be level 8 to 10 in the Private Eye Career
2) You must have a sim in the Law Enforcement career in town
3) You must have a sim in the Stylist Role in town (meaning you need a Salon Lot with a manned Stylist Station)
