The only reason why I brought that up, when I was doing the experiment for the fundraiser, when I clicked on someone, that option didn't come up, but I suppose it was because I was at the beach front and not at home, so that might have been the reason.

That could very well be, Salty. Kind of hard to ask someone to leave when you're not even on your own home lot. :)

This is true, silly me.  It should be an interesting challenge, to say the least.  Where do you come up with this stuff, lol.

Ideas for me can come from anywhere— a brand new idea I thought of in the shower ;), a remake of something done last year, a suggestion in the Proposed Challenges thread, Pam helps me out too. She's the source for House Hunters—I'm just taking the idea and running with it. I'm also leaning on her heavily for an upcoming collecting event since I'm way too raw in that area of the game. The source for this particular challenge was my combination of 2 articles I've penned—the Leader of the Free World one and the How to Throw a Great Party one. Yeah, this one is definitely going to be a fun one. Looking forward to it a lot. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what function my utility Sim will be serving, but I think I finally have a clear idea for her.

I found a couple of good uses for my utility Sim but he's still just hanging around most of the time heh. My original idea for him didn't work out too well though - this challenge is super short so its back to the drawing board.

I am glad I am playing this challenge.  From what I have read, not alot of people have done the political career. I have done more of these than anything else, so hopefully, will not come in so close to the bottom this time, lol.

Sign me up even though I'm not a big fan of party throwing with my Sims, I have tried the political career a couple of times. This should be interesting if anything.

Thanks, Lisa

I'm not a big fan of throwing parties either, Chelkey.  But I'm starting to discover a lot of great benefits from throwing parties.  Not just the political fundraisers, but any party.

I find it quite easy to have a great party! My Generation four had a wedding party and she left for work after she got married, her mother made some hot-dogs and put them on the table, then I went off to play the teens who were at home after coming back from school! It was a great party verging on epic! (At the beach!)

I've never done a challenge before, but this seems fun, and if I have the time I'd like to try it. :)

Good luck. Have fun in this one. It starts in just a few short days. I think a lot of players are eager for this one (myself included). And welcome to the forums, roastedtoast.

Regarding the Science Geek, I may have just spotted him in my Career Couples game.  What I noticed was that the name of the toon I spotted was Gobias Koffi - a nice little nod to Arrested Development there.  I can't find a Koffi family on the map, and I did definitely meet him so he'd show up if he lived in town.

Gobias is a regular townie and not an NPC, so he would not qualify.

Gobias Koffi lives near the beach in the beginning of the game.  His back yard faces the water.

It's easy to confuse the Science Geek with another sim in the Science career. The Science Geek uniform is almost identical to that of the Level 2 Lab Tech. To make it even more confusing, if you ask a Science Geek about his career he will identify himself as a Lab Technician. So a "Lab Tech" is a neighborhood resident while a "Lab Technician" is an NPC. Here's a picture to help clear up the confusion.

Great information as usual, Cub!  Thanks for the screenshots.  I thought I remembered the science geek wearing glasses, but I wasn't sure and didn't have a picture.

It's always best to ask about their career to avoid confusion - I thought I'd caught a handyman in the park, turned out she was a roadie heh. Plus it also helps identify them later in your friend's list as they appear out of uniform!

I know we get a bonus for learning all traits for an NPC. If I make friends with a child who delivers the newspaper, and I learn all 3 of her traits, what happens when she ages up to teen and gets another trait? The only other NPCs who would gain traits on aging up would be babysitters, but they're already excluded according to the rules.

The only other NPCs who would gain traits on aging up would be babysitters, but they're already excluded according to the rules.

You'll note there is no time related restriction to the NPC rule—i.e. it does not specify that you only receive credit for Best Friend/"Know all Traits" NPCs at the end of the challenge. This was completely intentional and means once you fulfill the requirement, jot that person's name down on your tally sheet and move on. So, if your newspaper carrier that you have already become Best Friends with and learned all 3 traits when they were a Child ages up to Teen, you'd probably want to learn the new trait simply because it will be scored in the Charisma Skill Journal, but it's not a necessary thing to do for the NPC score.

A very good question, TheCub.
