Carl/Pam:

If the two of you ever feel bogged down and need an extra set of hands to pen an article, let me know. I enjoy writing and would be happy to help any way I can.

Keep up the great work with the site.

I would appreciate anything you want to write Metro. I don't have anything that jumps to mind *immediately*. But if I think up something I'll private message you ASAP. I would also like to extend global moderator to you because of how frequently you are on and your vast contributions to the site. The position only means watching for legitimate spammers and being able to kick their nasty posts. At this point in time. We have 0 spam posts so far, but I'd like to achieve a high level of coverage just in case they strike.

If anyone wants to take up something on the agenda, let me know. Providing data is invaluable, even if it is a portion of what we need on a subject. I must confess that some distracting things are happening in the school and girl zones. I expressed a desire to be absent and it's gone well so far. After 2 months it is reinvigorating me. I'll probably expand this list with new ideas this weekend. Then things can be up for grabs. If you want to write a guide, and aren't the best at writing, don't be shy. As long as you don't mind some heavy editing.

I like the idea of a sort of optimaxed guide to resurrecting someone. I played Agnes Crumplebottom (IIRC that's her name) who tragically lost her husband just after marrying him. It really is sad to look at the half-completed nursery. I knew I needed ambrosia to resurrect him, but I didn't realize that I had to see someone die first while playing in order to get the resurrection opportunity.

The other guide I'd like (this will sound risible)... is a guide on how to reliably throw a great party for large numbers of people. Yeah, really. It's not something I've explored or investigated much; my idea of a party IRL is to invite a small number of people round to dinner, and have some fine food and good wine. I've had big parties in the past, but there I simply hired caterers and let my gf plan them.

I'd be willing to write a guide on my Centurian Challenge; I'd also be willing to write one on optimal resurrection (I'd focus on the Crumplebottom story). Amusingly, I don't feel qualified to write a great party guide, but I'd definitely appreciate tips.

Let me know if you'd like to enlist my writing talents, such as they are.

Something about resurrection would be nice. I did the ghosts guide but if yo uwant to do a step by step, or have anything to add let me know (we can make a new thread). We should also make a new thread discussing parties in the miscellaneous game mechanics section and invite others to share information that way. Thanks, Holmes.

And of course, if you write a guide to one of the challenges site all I'd ask is to sort of follow the style we're already using... intro, traits chosen, proceed to story. Doesn't need a lot of detail, and only a few screenshots to spice things up.

EDIT: Oh, I see there is already a thread for parties! Great! http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=148.0

I haven't a suggestion, but I can volunteer to follow somone's specifications to help gather data to ease needing to create and play through various scenarios for a viable dataset.
I tend to like making families with lots of kids (masochistic streak, gotta be)

You getting World Adventures at launch, RC? We really want to get info out there as soon as possible after the launch, because, well, there is some competition and in the end I want this to be the *best* guide available.

Pencil me in for the new Photographer Lifetime Wish, Carl. It's going to coincide nicely with an artistic-type of challenge I have in mind incorporating new content from WA.

That is nice to know, that something like that might get done while I'm working on the top priority -- the new skill guides themselves, which I'll start on this Tuesday. I expect info to flow rapidly given how many members we have lately!

I could go out and buy the game Tuesday, but I wanted to support the site via Amazon. And my delivery date I believe is Thursday. Oh, well. Patience is a virtue.

It's appreciated man, one of the nuances of amazon is the more items you ship the higher bracket for commissions you're pushed into, you reach some certain point and you get more commission for every other previous order.

But thanks to all of you, I'm not as stressed about this launch date because I know I have so much help.

Carl I saw you mention in another thread about needed to nail down the growth times on the different plants.  I am willing to do this for you if you give me the guidelines of the sim you want (what traits and lifetime rewards).  I can have them plant one group of plants for a control and then plant another group of plants for fertilizer.  Give me a outline and I will get onto this for ya!

Yes followed the little 'support' link and ordered it there. I don't know off the top of my pointy little head when it will arrive, or if I can get a digital download while I wait for the physical disk. I'll have to check my mail at home, but my delivery date is likely Thursday like Metro's.
What can I get for you once it's here? The weekend is very light except the pre-Thanksgiving gorcery shopping that needs to get done.

I know the main thing Carl and Pam will want ASAP are walkthroughs for the new Lifetime Wishes and skills. I've got the Photographer ones covered. I think there's a new Martial Artist one, and probably another one. Not sure. Just PM with Pam/Carl and see what they want to do and everything can be assigned. Thanks for the offer to help, RC.

Photography, Martial Arts and Nectar-Making since you can't have 'alcohol' and keep the kid-friendly rating  ::)
There's also I think 3 new traits. There may also be things like "Jet-Set Lifestyle: 3 vacation homes" LTW to work on. Becoming a Mummy. Defeating the Mummy's curse. Afterlife as a Mummy/Ghost hybrid.

<shrug> it's all fun, and I'll get to all of them eventually. There's also a lot of cross-pollination opportunities. I've read something about a trait that goes with MA, and another specifically for vacationing and garnering the visa points. But if I don't get directions, I'll just scamper everywhere at once 8) I also have to decide how I want to spend my 2000 free store points, since I never used the ones that came with the original.
It may be easiest to wait til we have it in front of us, and set a matrix of maximum coverage.

Good point. I'm dying to do a new challenge soon after I have WA, but I'll really have to first dig deep to find out what kind of scoring components will work.

Well, there's good news, and there's bad news....
My husband didn't follow what I asked, and pre-ordered from Amazon, but not through the link >:( Sorry Carl :'( It won't arrive until 11/23 :o
The good news is, since it's his fault, he'll take that copy when it comes in, and I just got my copy off the shelf.

Since no one else has spoken up, I'm building a martial artist, and I'll be exploring China along the way.

Bumping this so people will take note of the change to the first post. This thread'll now serve to eliminate confusion as to who's doing what.

I can work on something if you want/need more people. I have the time and it could be fun.

Thanks Da Vinci. You'll find a little on what needs to be done in the updated post. I can't have thought of everything yet. I just updated it so this is yet another bump

I just want to say thanks for all the helpful guides and tips. The site is comprehensive and easy to navigate. I found my answers easily and quickly here; after giving up on EA's support site. Keep it up! You're awesome and your site rocks ;D

It really does, I have searched thoroughly through the internet and have yet to find one site that contains as much help as this one does! EA messed us up! >:( Their guide can't even make a writer with a large amount of income, and this one is free! ;D

...So what's laying in wait?

...The other lifetime wishes not already taken - we want walkthroughs for these to provide some tips for people looking to raise their VISA level or accomplish the other goals quickly.

Be specific. Which ones are not covered already? I'm not familiar enough with WA to know all of the new LTW.
