The Sims 3: World Adventures
Visionary Lifetime Wish Walkthrough

By Tom Schlueter

Previous: Stevie Wonder's Visionary Lifetime Wish

Week 3, Day 1. Painting is now maxed. Proudly standing in front of two of his favorite paintings, Stevie realizes he’s made a monumental accomplishment: he’s halfway to finishing his Lifetime Wish. In a flash of inspiration he calls the painting on the left: Flight of the Pterodactyl: Death from Above; the other painting is dubbed: Nightime in the Graveyard (Superstition pt II).

So, it was off to Al Simhara, Egypt to purchase the top-of-the-line Hikon QX40di Gladiator from Mena Lufti, the General Goods merchant.

Mena: “Your music inspires me.”
Stevie: (sigh) “Again with the music. Look, I’m a photographer now.”
Mena: “But, you’re bli..
Stevie: “Look, Cleopatra, I need a Hikon Gladiator pronto so I can finish up this Lifetime Wish. Oh, and I need the extra large camera buttons.”

Stevie then hopped over to Ameen Moussa, book merchant, to purchase Photography Vol 1: Taking off the Lens Cap. Stevie opted to pay a little more and got the book on CD version read by Ansel Adams.

Time to get back to Sunset Valley and learn photography. Oh, snap!

I took a tip from Carl’s photography guide and Stevie quickly got 3 skill levels in photography from simply reading the introductory book. And look — He’s turning a page! He’s turning a page! See? See? The proof is right there! Stevie Wonder can read! It’s a miracle. God be praised! Oh, I can’t believe it. Bless you doctors of Sunset Valley Hospital. Ahhhhhhhh!

Now it was finally time to put the Photographer’s Eye trait to use and take some pictures. Stevie completed the Around Town collection in just one day. But, here’s the frustrating thing — there’s no reward or bonus for doing so. And here’s something odd: Stevie got a wish to buy a ChannonTec Outlaw SE camera as he’s taking pictures with the Hycon. That’s a downgrade! I mean why don’t you just remove his 1% eyesight while you’re at it? C’mon, EA. Give that kind of wish to Jared Frio. But not Stevie Wonder.

Stevie was now at level 7 in photography. Stevie received the opportunity to take a visa photo for Stiles McGraw. His first attempt wasn’t quite what Stiles needed, so Stiles gently suggested that Stevie stand in front of him for another attempt. Stevie agreed and the next photo was a vast improvement. Stevie’s a quick learner...

Here’s something I quickly discovered about photography: gaining experience is amazingly quick compared to other skills. The skill meter just explodes with each shot taken. It’s incredible. And it’s on par with the same system used for fishing — there’s something going on in the background while fishing to feed the skill meter on a constant basis, but when you actually catch a fish — BAM....a big jump. With photography, there’s no constant feed. It’s all hinged on pressing the shutter. And my gut feeling tells me you could max photography even faster than fishing when the total time devoted to a skill is compared. Photography might very well be the fastest skill you can max out.

Stevie was getting bored with Sunset Valley and wanted to try his hand at photography abroad, so he booked a return trip to Al Simhara, Egypt. How exciting! Stevie examines the contents of a chest in the Pyramid of the Sky. With his eyesight still a great handicap he mistakenly thinks he’s looking at a Bistro menu and calls for a waiter.

I did have one “wow” picture with Stevie while in Egypt — a $2168 shot of the Great Sphinx. That was his most valuable picture, by far.

Stevie got photography to level 9 in Egypt, and then headed back to Sunset Valley to push the skill even higher. But, I didn’t want him to max out the skill and finish his LTW with boring shots of his hometown. Stevie Wonder deserved better. So, after a 2-day break he booked another vacation to France. This is it. Stevie only needed 2 shots left to max out photography. So many choices were available to him in the beautiful city of Champs Les Sims. What subjects would he choose?

The Nectary. It had to be there. Stevie asked Nectary merchant Albert Fouchier where the world famous nectar-making machines were. Albert directed Stevie down the hall and Stevie sat down at the machine. It was hard as if made of wood. A solid well built machine. He stepped back and took a photo of the nectar-making machine seat and its completely flat surface. He rested his hands on the nectar maker and pondered his last shot.

Stevie decided to thank Albert Fouchier for his assistance by taking 2 portraits of the merchant.

Albert: “The local ladies are very fond of my brown eyes.”
Stevie: "I can see why. I'll have your portraits framed as my gift to you. Owww...was this chair here before?"

Stevie Wonder's journey into photography and painting was short lived but incredibly successful. Before returning to Sunset Valley inspiration hit Stevie and he decided to quickly find the local recording studio to write some songs about his fantastic Visionary Lifetime Wish.
