The Sims 3: World Adventures
World Class Gallery Lifetime Wish Walkthrough
By Pam Marsden

This walkthrough is for the new Lifetime Wish in The Sims 3 World Adventures, World-Class Gallery. The criteria are:
- Have a current collection of photographs worth at least $25,000.
- Have at least 10 photographs from each location placed on your lot.
For this Lifetime Wish, I created Jimmy and Susan Olsen. Allow me to introduce them.
Jimmy's traits:
Photographer's Eye
This trait is pretty much required for a photography related Lifetime Wish. Jimmy will learn the skill faster than a normal Sim and his photographs will be worth more.
Adventurous
With this trait, Jimmy will want to travel and go on adventures. He'll also gain a positive moodlet whenever he's in a tomb.
Charismatic
When visiting other countries, there are many instances when it's required to befriend the locals for one reason or another. This will be much easier and quicker for Jimmy with the Charisma skill and he will learn it quicker with this trait.
Brave
Exploring tombs to gain Visa points can be dangerous and frightening. With this trait, Jimmy won't let fear slow him down.
Over-Emotional
Jimmy will have more extreme emotional reactions than normal Sims, both good and bad. When they're good, Jimmy will have a better mood and will be able to learn faster.
Susan Olsen is Jimmy's wife and will act as the utility Sim. She has my standard preferred traits of Natural Cook, Handy, Neat, Green Thumb, and Angler. Keeping the house will be Susan's responsibility so that Jimmy can focus more on his objective. Susan's Lifetime wish is Culinary Librarian.

Jimmy and Susan moved to Sunset Valley and bought a very inexpensive one bedroom house. It's on a nice sized lot, which will be great for a garden and possible future expansion. I bought them an upgraded refrigerator and stove so that they won't experience the negative moodlets associated with the least expensive models. They also have a comfortable bed, although it's not top of the line. Add a comfortable love seat, television, and table seating for two and they're all set.

It will be awhile before Jimmy can travel to Egypt to purchase a camera and Photography skill books, so they both need to have jobs with a steady income. Jimmy had a wish to join the Political Career and Susan chose Law Enforcement. Jimmy's I can understand because of his Charismatic trait. But Law Enforcement? Really? I would have thought she would work at the Bistro. But who am I to deny my Sim's wish? Law Enforcement it is! Level 1 Snitch, to be exact. Jimmy accepted the position of level 1 Podium Polisher. Their first stop after securing gainful employment was the public library where Jimmy quickly reached level 3 of the Charisma skill and Susan made it to level 2 in Cooking. She knocked off early to go find some seeds in the park and to grill some hotdogs. Jimmy joined her for a simple but satisfying meal. Next stop is home and bed.
Both Jimmy and Susan went to work the next day and did fine. Jimmy had a wish to throw a party, so he invited his boss and co-workers over to their new house after work. He ordered pizza and locked the front door so that only family can go into the house. The guests milled around, danced, and had pizza. It was a nice success.

In the early morning hours of the next day (Tuesday), Jimmy made a quick trip to Egypt. He did just enough over there to get started. He bought the mid-range camera and the photography skill book. He also bought some native fruit and a couple of new recipes for Susan. Now he can get serious about learning Photography and get some practice in with the less expensive camera. Hopefully he'll be able to get the best camera about the time he's made it half way through the skill levels. He also found some relics, which will be sold to help finance the trip. He went to work straightaway after arriving back in Sunset Valley. By the end of his shift, he had gotten a promotion to level 2 Ballot Counter. Susan's promotion to Desk Jockey came the very next day. By the end of the first work week, Jimmy had again been promoted to level 3 Coffee Courier.
Now that the weekend is here, Jimmy and Susan can do some things without worrying about work. Simis Bachelor showed up at the door Friday night and ended up staying for dinner. He and Jimmy chatted while Susan cleaned up and repaired the shower. Susan needs to learn logic for her job in Law Enforcement, so she's also spending some time reading the Logic book that came with their new bookshelf. Susan managed to get a good bit of Handiness experience when the television, kitchen sink, and bathroom sink all broke at once. It took most of the day to get those things repaired. At least she was able to learn the recipe for Shawarma. Jimmy went to the park and took some pictures. It brought him up to level 3 in Photography. Afterward he collected some nice gems to have cut and sell for cash.
Neither of these Sims has the Family Oriented trait, but they are both ready for a child. So, the weekend will also result in a new addition to the family. Susan will receive pay for personal time off, but will probably quit her job after it runs out because the new baby will still be a toddler. Babysitters are an extra expense and they don't take care of the wee ones the way parents do.

After adding a room for the baby and expanding the living area, there was still plenty of money for Jimmy to make another trip to Al Simhara. He did enough adventures this time to increase his Visa to level 1, so he'll have longer trips from now on when he travels to Egypt and he'll be able to purchase items from the Special Merchant. One of Jimmy's adventures had him collecting Mummitomium. This metal is rare and sometimes hard to find, but it's worth it to take a couple of days and collect some extra to keep for yourself. When smelted, it's worth a great deal of money. Jimmy has managed to keep four pieces and it add a very nice bump to the family finances (about $25,000).
He bought the top of the line camera on this trip to Al Simhara and he's also up to level 5 in Photography. He took much better pictures on this trip that were worth several hundred dollars each. He specifically took pictures of the inside of a tomb that may come in handy for later adventures. He also had a wish to buy a snake charming basket and he did. Sims seem to get almost obsessed with that thing, whipping it out any time they have even the tiniest amount of time without any commands. Jimmy returned home just in time for the birth of his son, Greg Olsen. Both parents wanted a boy, so they got a lot of lifetime points when the little guy was born. Now it's back to the regular routine of Politics and raising his son until it's time to for more travel.

When little Greg aged up to toddler, Jimmy had a birthday party for him with lots of friends, co-workers, and neighbors. This was a great opportunity to capture some nice photographs. Even his common photos are worth $200 to $300 now. He is using the best settings on this camera, which at the moment are Large Portrait and Sepiatone. It costs a little more to take these higher quality photos, but it's worth it because they are more valuable. The wall of Jimmy and Susan's living room is filled with his photographs from Egypt. It will soon be time to travel to China to get the next part of the Lifetime Wish requirement to have 10 photographs of each location.
Jimmy had a fabulous trip to China. He earned enough points to gain Visa Level 1 and he reached level 8 in Photography. He visited the tourist spots and took lots of photographs. But the best part was the adventure he accepted in which he had to find five pieces of metal for a local who is building a telescope. Not only did the Map View have all the metals tagged, but it also showed what kind of metal it is. In China, the valuable metals are Mercury and Platinum. Jimmy spent three days traveling the countryside and collecting these metals. He didn't even bother giving the five pieces to his contact person. In fact, when he goes back to China, the adventure will still be active and the metals will still be tagged on the Map View. Our star has stumbled onto some very easy and very big money! The first thing he did when he got home was to send all the metals to the smelter. He had 9 pieces of gold, which cost $360 to smelt; 20 pieces of Mercury, which cost $800 to smelt; and 29 pieces of Platinum, which cost $1,160 to smelt. When it returned in the mail the next day, the total values were: 19 ingots of Gold for $2,599; 33 vials of Mercury for $14,519; and 55 ingots of Platinum for $28,041. Jimmy made over $45,000 in metals!

Not much exciting is going on at home for the Olsen family. Jimmy had made it to level 6 in the Political career and Susan tends the family and little Greg. They wanted another child, so Susan was pregnant when Jimmy made what is hopefully his last trip to Al Simhara. He didn't do any adventures this time. He concentrated on getting some excellent photographs and collecting expensive metals. This time around he found Palladium and Plutonium in addition to the Platinum. It added another substantial sum of money to the household finances, which will greatly help with the expansions to the house. On the day of his return home, Jimmy's daughter, Marcia, was born.

In the hopes that he could wrap up his World-Class Gallery, Jimmy made a short trip to Champs Les Sims, France. He focused completely on his photography and reached level 10 while traveling. He visited the Nectary, the Museum, and the Market, snapping pictures of everything. Upon his return to Sunset Valley, I put the final photographs on the walls of their small house, but it didn't trigger the Lifetime Wish. This particular Wish doesn't keep a tally of how far along you are, so you've got to do it yourself.
I really hoped that I would just have plenty of everything, but no such luck. Jimmy had a wish to quit his job, so he's now unemployed. It's time for another trip to Shang Simla to gather more valuable metals and to get some bigger and better photographs to add to the collection. It's also time to move the family because the little house has been stretched as far as it will go and Jimmy wants another child! But wait!! After a trip around Sunset Valley taking photographs of the school and a Death Flower Bush... and hanging those photos on the walls of their house... Jimmy received his Lifetime Wish!! At the exact moment that Susan got pregnant again! I'll still have Jimmy make another trip to China for the financial aspect of it, and maybe get enough to be able to buy a vacation home somewhere. Congratulations Jimmy Olsen!
