Welcome to my guide to the objects in buy mode in The Sims 3. This guide will be helpful in several scenarios. I'll provide some commentary about good deals you should look for, and objects that can get lost in the crowd. Many players come to the guide looking for where to buy things, so I felt it would be helpful to give them a landing area for searching. It will also be nice for anyone who wants to see a summary of all the things that can be owned in a normal installation of The Sims 3. The expansions have their own pages which give a fair amount of information about the new offerings they bring, and where they're found.

Some items are not listed in the Sort by Room section of buy mode and may go unnoticed by players. They may be oversights by EA or just couldn't be easily categorized. This mainly pertains to objects like the display case and nectar racks from World Adventures. You'll need to go to sort by function to find these. This is also the only way to see items unlocked by the buydebug cheat.

If you really want to view all of your decorating options, you should consider going into sort by function. That way, you can see every painting and sculpture available to you all in one area, along with other miscellaneous decor that may have gone unnoticed.

Buydebug is the Sims 3's buy mode cheat. It will allow you to purchase anything in the game. That way, if you accidentally delete something when editing a lot, you are sure to be able to replace it. To do this, activate the cheat console by typing Control + Shift + C, type testingcheatsenabled true, then a second command: buydebug. You can find under sort by function a question mark item in the bottom right corner where the special objects can be found.

In Buydebug you have a lot of power over your expansion content. You can buy martial arts, nectar making, and photography equipment here without actually traveling. You can also buy items like seed and metal spawners to aid in collecting. Celebrities in the Late Night expansion can get special perks and those can be bought here as well.

Ok is buydebug no longer working? I've tried it like 20 times.
I get the testingcheatsenabled true then after that it won't work. What am I doing wrong?
Are you looking in the right place? It's a ? icon while in buy mode under categories above all the other icons.  I don't have any issues with it working.

I have a question. I am clicking on my.bed to go to sleep, and along with regular options, the option to "buy bed for x money" comes up to. It does this with some other household objects as well. Why is this?

If anyone knows: Is there a mod that unlocks all of the newly added content (from expansion packs and the works) and that also unlocks the objects from lifetime happiness rewards? I know I can get them through awesomemod but I don't know if there's an alternative.

I've done the testingcheatsenabled true cheat AND the buydebug on cheat so many times my keyboard is almost worn thin. Still unrecognized. It has worked before in the past, but not now. Why?

Your problem is, your only typing "Testingcheatsenabled true" then "buydebug". Your problem is your buydebug command wasn't complete. The correct command is "buydebug ON". You can remove the buydebug section easily by typing "Buydebug OFF". If that is the problem, I do not know what it is.

Not 100% on groceries but when you buy books they go into your sim's inventory. You have to either click it and read it from there, or click a bookcase and put the books away.

Hi! Buydebug on (cheat) worked for me. And I found the (?) symbol. I tried looking for a camera, but failed. I don't have the WA Expansion pack, so maybe that's the reason. (I hope not--mehh)
