Butterflies

Butterflies can be found in the same places as beetles. There are usually several spawns in the parks. Check near fishing spots as well as the graveyard to find more, and check the maps. You will get the best profit from collecting these insects by selling them to the science facility. They can also be used as decoration by dragging them from the Sim's inventory to the ground. There's again one challenge associated with this type of collectible, Butterfly Collector. Collecting all ten types of butterfly will help your Sim to find more insects in the world. All butterflies in the Sims 3:

Moth: $5
Monarch Butterfly: Up to $10
Zephyr Metalmark Butterfly: $20-25
Red Admiral Butterfly: $30
Mission Blue Butterfly: $50
Green Swallowtail Butterfly: near 100
Royal Purple Butterfly: $100-150
