The Sims 3 Cooking Guide

List of Recipes With Ingredients and Base Quality

Challenges and Opportunities

Every cooking skill level your Sims learn in the Sims 3 will unlock new recipes. Some recipes will be learned automatically. Others will require recipe books that you can buy at the book store in town. Watching cookin' cable and sharing recipes with other Sims via the Share Cooking Secrets interaction are other ways to get them, but not as reliably. Sometimes, in the culinary career track, your Sim will get a task to read a recipe book before the next work day. This lets your Sim learn the recipe free of charge, and gives them a boost to their cooking skill.

I didn't include prices because they're mostly no big deal. The most expensive meal is Lobster Thermidor, coming in at up to $80 for the meal. Most every other meal is under $30. Look to the base quality to see the starting quality of that food item. Basically, this will make it easier for your Sim to produce a perfect product if it's higher. It takes several steps out of the way between your Sim and perfection when you cook Great Stuffed Turkey.

Keep in mind that cooking a meal many times affords the greatest boost to food quality.
