This Sims 3 Guide was originally written for the PC and Mac versions of the game, but also will help owners of the console versions - PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Please remember some info or numbers may have changed.

Fishing Opportunities

There are numerous types of fishing opportunities in the Sims 3. Many are very similar, often requiring you to catch a fish of a particular quality, or deliver a number of fish to a particular person. Many of these opportunities do not have fixed rewards.

Since the rewards for the opportunities aren't fixed, they scale with the quality and value of fish that you provide. So, if the opportunity asks for lobster, try to deliver a perfect lobster to receive more money. This can be multipled even more if you deliver multiple death fish as part of the 6, or 15 fish opportunity. You could seriously bring in a ton of money that way.

Fishing Challenges

There are only two Fishing Challenges in the Sims 3. The first, Amateur Ichthyologist is completed after catching one of every fish. This is not very hard to do if you compare your Sim's fishing list against the one that I provide. Completing this challenge will help your Sim to catch bigger fish, perfect for helping to boost the variable bonuses from opportunities and achieving the high fish weight wishes. Players will World Adventures will find catching all the fish required to unlock the opportunity.

The second challenge, Commercial Fisherman is done once your Sim has caught a grand total of 350 fish. This will definitely take a while to complete. It's much easier for anglers who love the outdoors. It will boost the rate at which you can catch fish. If you followed many of my other fishing tips above, your Sims will be reeling in loads of money from their outings.
