The Sims 3 Dragon Valley World Guide

Dragon Valley Guide

The Sims 3 Dragon Valley WorldRicalynn has written a Guide to the Sims 3 Dragon Valley World. It is fully featured and covers places in the town itself, Baby Dragons that are included with the World, a list of residents, and collectibles maps that will help you find all the rare things you need like Palladium, Pink Diamonds, and Alley Catfish to catch Angel Fish and reel in those Death Fish after midnight. This is the first in a series, with the next coverage featuring Aurora Skies. Rica has accepted to cover all the Worlds in this style, and that has me enthused about the quality of information I will happily host here. It appears we'll have the most comprehensive information on worlds all in one place here, but it'll take some time.

About Carl's Sims 3 Site

The Sims 3 Base GameBorn July 16, 2009, this Strategy Guide seeks to help Simmers from all over the world with detailed and informative articles, hints, and tips for The Sims 3 and its expansions. We largely favor a powergamer mindset, and shoot for making the most money, finding how it works, or doing things better and more efficiently. You'll find step-by-step instructions, and screenshots to help you accomplish things in the Sims 3. Collectively, we've written over 200 pages of content for the game. If you'd like to see a listing of every article we offer, have a look at our Sitemap. There you'll find a full list of articles, along with a search tool that will help you to track down the info you need.

We have a staff of 3, with Pam Marsden and Tom Schlueter helping Carl with guide writing and the forum. If you explore the guide you'll see we've had lots of help from our growing forum community. We have numerous volunteer moderators. To learn a little about our staff, visit the Staff section of our Sims 3 Forum. Many of our moderators have supplied walkthroughs or in-depth articles for the Guide.

If you don't yet have an account, sign up at our forum to provide tips and tricks, suggestions, and corrections to the guide. You'll be helping me to improve something that has helped over 100,000 Simmers from around the world. The Sims 3 is far more complex than meets the eye, and without readers like you this guide wouldn't be nearly as accurate and helpful as it is today.

Players are able to contribute information through the comments system. This allows the site to function somewhat as a Wiki, for players can enter additional information and discuss game mechanics to help other Simmers. Questions about the game and specific features can be asked on those pages, although I (Carl) cannot answer them all. Do not expect answers to be swift unless you use our Forum. Many bits of helpful information can be found using the site's search function, which goes through about 20,000 pages of content to help you find an answer to your questions.

I've recently downloaded The Sims 3 starter pack from thesims.com and I've fully installed it all, however, everytime I try to play it says an error has occurred and the game won't open. I have a fairly new Mac so I figured it would work. And all the games have been updated as well. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Yes. Purchase it through Origin where you will be able to see just how much it will cost before finalizing your purchase. There are many sales throughout the year so keep an eye on the prices.

Hello my name is Tia! I have the sims 3 and have been adapting my sunset valley town in world editor. On the road that goes adjacent to the beach I placed the largest lot to put a festival ground. It wasn't right next to the road, so there was a gap between the lot and path. I changed my mind after and deleted the festival ground but I now cannot move the lot or delete it and make smaller ones in its place (in world editor)! I'm wondering if someone can help me?
13th May 2014 7:07pm
Playalot says...
Bulldoze the lot again. The first bulldoze empties the lot, the second should remove it entirely.

Question: If I am still playing/enjoying sims3, should I bother getting sims4? I'd overlooked it until now because my laptop didn't meet recommended specs, but my new laptop does and it's in Origin's sale at the mo. Asking here because whenever I try to go to the sims4 guide then McAffee throws a hissy fit and says it's a suspicious website.

I'll let Carl know you're having problems with the TS4 Guide as that absolutely shouldn't be happening, he runs a very clean site and there should be nothing malicious anywhere near it!
As for TS4 well, it's a very different game. You're best bet is to read the TS4 guides to see if it's something you think you may like but you could also join our forum and ask questions there. It would be really awesome of you could post about your TS4 Guide issue on the TS4 forum for Carl to read but no pressure: http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php

Carl has dealt with this issue. He has submitted the site to get this warning removed but it may take several days. The site is safe to visit as of now, and it may have been from fall last year. My guess is that some random rogue ad caused this issue and Carl was not informed. Sadly, dealing with rogue ads are nearly a full time job in itself. But thank you for reporting and letting us know, otherwise there is simply no way to tell from our end.

I was thinking of buying the Island Paradise expansion but when looking at the screenshots, it doesn't seem possible to import a family with horses. How about dogs? All of my families have pets and this makes me sad. I really hope EA gave them the ability to swim since they can in real life and dogs do in other expansions of the game.
Horseback riding on the beach and in the ocean would be amazing (and is in real life).
Thank you for your help.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

11th August 2015 1:02am
Playalot says...
1. Save the sims.backup somewhere else.
2. Move all the non-deleted sims out of the lot, and change active household to the new home.
3. Choose Edit-Town, and 'Change Active Household', then select the original household. Deleted sim should now be back.
4. While still in edit-town, merge the moved-out sim household back to the original.
5. Return to Game.

This is in response to the comments about the game overloading your computers. I read something about unnecessary files that can be deleted before each game session. I usually delete the dccache file, simscomposite file, compositer file, and all of the featured items. I've also had a lot of luck with a laptop cooling pad. I got one on Amazon for $28 and my game hasn't frozen or stopped at all since then. Hope this helps!
Admin:
DCCache is the file that holds all of your downloaded and installed content.  Did you mean the DCBackup?  It's safe to delete everything in the DCBackup but the ccmerged file.

So I'm kind of stuck....my Sim had parents that lived in a separate house, they died and now I cant find there ashes to properly bury them....Is there a way I could find them? I tried looking at the house they owned but its not there
Admin:
Go to the mausoleum in the graveyard and manage the dead to find their tombstones. As long as you had a good enough relationship with them, they should be there.

Admin:
I'm not entirely certain what you're asking me to help you with.  As for the house making, I always recommend saving often and I would also recommend powering down the game and restarting every couple of hours to avoid crashes.
