The Sims 3 Fisherman: Presenting the Perfect Private Aquarium Lifetime Wish Walkthrough

The Perfect Private Aquarium in the Sims 3

Starting the Aquarium
My Sim pursues her wishes. I try to stick to completing them as often as possible. I look to my Bait List and work to catch new types of fish. My other goal is to make it to completing the Amateur Ichthyologist challenge. In riverview, the only source of some types of fish that I could find was the Riverview fish hatchery. Another place my Sim liked to hit up was the pond at lost willow park. I found black goldfish, shark, and angel fish, red herring, vampire fish and lobster there.

Stocking the Fish Bowls
Sticking with my 'always using bait' method, I hit up the supermarket a lot. The only bait I had trouble finding there was red herring for shark. Still, the red herring themselves were so easy to catch that I got several perfect fish, and consequentially a perfect shark for the aquarium.

Working toward Amateur Ichthyologist
I follow a pattern. Since I have red herring and shark in her aquarium, I no longer pursue those fish. I try to stick to the more common fish when I can, because they are easier to catch perfect samples. It's more rare with 'normal' quality anchovies as bait for example, to catch a perfect swordfish. To help fill out my Fish list, and keep track of what fish I need for amateur ichthyologist, gradually spread out to catching a wide spread of different fish on a single trip. It's easy with high level fishing to catch more perfect common fish, using the lure as bait.

Catching Death Fish in RiverviewFilling the Perfect Aquarium
Once my Sim has made it to level 10 fishing, and knows of most fish, it's easy to catch any type of fish she desires. The Riverview Fish Hatchery becomes her stomping ground. After a quick trip to the supermarket every morning, she's off to the hatchery. Using Inspect Water, she can find any fish she's looking for. I can even pause the game and look at what's in each little pond. The only two types of fish that aren't found there, are the death fish and robot fish. The robot fish is just off the shore by the science facility (riverview), the death fish just off the coast up from the graveyard, near where the river forks. After midnight, an eerie mist hangs over the fishing node. Death fish can be caught there, and with the perfect angelfish my Sim caught earlier, she's able to snag some very very expensive fish. I think with angelfish as bait, fishing takes the crown for me from the painting skill as the best way to make money in the Sims 3.

Catching all 13 perfect fish isn't a problem at all. A trip to the grocery store for several types of bait, followed by a day of fishing at the hatchery can usually net her two or three perfect fish each day. She actually does better catching perfect versions of fish that take live bait. Because she has no experience in gardening, she can't grow perfect food to use as bait. She can however catch perfect bait, thus the boon to catching fish with live bait. It is not long at this stage before she completes her lifetime wish and gets herself a moodlet manager.

I can now confirm that the "Industrious Industries Research Pond" across the street from the Science building does indeed have robotfish. ^_^

This is fine for the Xbox 360, the fishery is just called research pond instead. Skip the robot fish (or try the same pond using piranha as bait) since it's hard to find directions online for where the heck it actually is. I do believe I caught the deathfish ages ago in the water that is actually in the mausoleum/cemetery after midnight, but my memory sucks so not 100% sure.
