Carl's The Sims 3 Career Track Guide: Career Paths List A-L
This Sims 3 Guide was originally written for the PC and Mac versions of the game, but also will help owners of the console versions - PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Please remember some info or numbers may have changed.
This is a full list of all careers in the Sims 3. here you'll find information on the work schedules of the level 10 careers in the game. Also, I'll do the math to show what the hourly pay rate comes to when your Sim makes it to work every day in a week. Keep in mind that these figures are for Sims who have never received a raise. With enough raises, your Sims can get much better salaries than the base rate. Your Sim will also earn raises when they're in a top level position, so there's a reason keep those job performance meters up even when they've reached level 10!
Also, I'll list the skill requirements of each career. You should be aware that in some careers, certain job requirements, most notably co-workers and boss, may disappear as a requirement. For skills, this is not usually the case however. Still, if you want your Sim to rise quickly, getting to know the boss and co-workers will get them there faster on jobs that require it.

Salary(Weekly Base Pay at Level 10): $331 an hour. 9 Hours/week = 2979
Career Track Skill and Social Requirements: Mood, Co-Workers and Meetings Held.
Job Special Abilities: Hold a Meeting
Career Info: Interestingly, the Business Career track relies entirely on your Sim's office relationships. Office Hero is a great lifetime reward to take for this career track as a result. Charisma will go a long way toward help your Sim with this track because of the friend requirements. The Schmoozer trait is awesome for business, as it helps further with inter-office communication.
High ranking Businessmen can hold a meeting from 8am to 6pm. They'll earn $750 for conducting the meeting, and it only lasts an hour and a half. Your Sim can do this often to earn quick money. Since Power Brokers have so much time off, a lot of money can be made this way. This explains power brokers' relatively low pay compared to other careers. They can run off and hold multiple meetings for quick cash.

Career Track Skill and Social Requirements: Athletic, Logic, Accomplices and Boss
Job Special Abilities: Evil Glow
Career Info: The Criminal Career Track in the Sims 3 branches off when your Sim is being promoted to level 7. Choosing the Evil branch will result in making an Emperor of Evil Sim. Early on, for the first six levels, accomplices are in the mix of requirements, but boss isn't present. It switches to boss at level 7. At level 8, logic becomes a requirement, so be sure to tackle it before then to make things easier.
The Emperor of Evil can develop a Red Glowing Aura that frightens some Sims, repulses others and delights the wicked. This is cool, but not the best special ability out there.

Salary (Weekly Base Pay at Level 10): $565 an hour. 16 Hours/week = 9040
Career Track Skill and Social Requirements: Athletic, Mood, Accomplices
Job Special Abilities: Golden Fox, Stealing
Career Info: Master Thieves are very straightforward Sims to make. They require athletic skill, and a good relationship with their accomplices. So, get your Sim to work out at the gym (take the athletic trait) and work on getting athletic high. Pause when it is high enough to work on relationships with your Thief Sim's co-workers (accomplices). Building solid relationships with them will last all the way to the highest level in this career track.
Master Thieves improve on the eight and ninth level thief abilities by being able to Steal even more expensive items while at work. Additionally, they'll get a Golden Fox that will give them a +25 moodlet that lasts for 8 full hours. They can of course Sneak as well, but it doesn't help them in any way, it rather adds a unique animation.

The Master Chef Fridge will boost the quality of all food cooked from it. Find it in your Family Inventory (Build Mode) after reaching this stage in the career track. The pay is lower for this one, but the reward is pretty sweet.

Salary (Weekly Base Pay at Level 10): $386 an hour. 16 Hours/week = 6176
Career Track Skill and Social Requirements: Writing, Charisma, Stories
Job Special Abilities: Interview
Career Info: Star News Anchors are not too hard to make. At third level, the Stories requirement is tacked on and will be a factor alongside writing all the way to 10th level. At third level, Sims will be able to Interview other Sims. Sadly, this Career is a let down. All interviewing does for your Sim is help them learn another's traits. It also opens a door for an opportunity. That's it. At least it's interesting that your Sim will be able to root through the trash to gather dirt on other Sims.
Law Enforcement: Dynamic DNA Profiler (Law Enforcement Forensics Branch)
Click for Career Track Job Pay and Details
Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9AM to 2PM
Salary (Weekly Base Pay at Level 10): $397 an hour. 20 Hours/week = 7940
Career Track Skill and Social Requirements: Painting, Logic, Mood, Reports, Partner
Job Special Abilities: Forensics Analysis
Career Info: The Path to the Dynamic DNA Profiler can be a bit more tough than some of the previous careers. The requirement to juggle two skills, along with the Partner and Reports requirements can be challenging. Get in good with your Sim's partner early, and stay on top of the reports. To type reports on other Sims, either rummage through their trash or talk to them. Get them warmed up to your Sim a bit first, then use the Friendly - Question interaction. If the Sim likes your Sim they may give them so information. At the 8th level of this career track, your Sim will begin requiring the Painting skill. You should begin raising it toward maximum well before then so that you aren't caught off guard.
Dynamic DNA Profilers will get a Free Laptop upon entering the Forensics path. Since it's the best computer, this is a nice bonus. Additionally, at the tenth level, they can do Forensics Analysis on the computer and earn money while raising the logic skill. It's a moot point that this raises logic, considering by this time it's not as big a deal. Additonally, running the forensics analysis takes about 3 hours, even with max logic and gives $600. Thus, your Sim will only earn $200 per hour doing this.
Law Enforcement: International Super Spy (Law Enforcement Special Agent Branch)
Click for Career Track Job Pay and Details
Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9AM to 1PM
Salary (Weekly Base Pay at Level 10):$477 an hour. 16 Hours/week = $7632
Career Track Skill and Social Requirements: Mood, Reports, Athletic, Logic, Partner
Job Special Abilities: Raid Criminals
Career Info: To become an International Super Spy is much like trying to become a DNA profiler. You'll have to stay up on reports, and will need two skills once your career branches to secret agent. Sims will need athletic and logic skills to succeed as spies.
Once you have an International Super Spy, they'll get a Special Warrant to raid the criminal hideout. Every town has one. Look for the burglar head symbol. It's a warehouse. Raiding the Criminals can earn some nice money, but there is a cooldown period before you can raid them again. Still, it's easy fast cash for the special agent.
