Carl's Sims 3 Guide - Skills, Traits, Careers, Rewards, and Lifetime Wishes for Ambitions and World Adventures

The Sims 3 Culinary Career Track

This Sims 3 Guide was originally written for the PC and Mac versions of the game, but also will help owners of the console versions - PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Please remember some info or numbers may have changed.

Culinary Career Track in the Sims 3To apply for the culinary career track in the Sims 3, have the Sim head to one of the restaurants in town. Naturally, this career track will require a very high cooking skill. At the tenth level, Five Star chefs will receive a master chef fridge which serves as an awesome trophy and will improve all meal quality. Look for it in the family inventory under build mode after receiving the refrigerator. Chefs will also receive free meals from restaurants in the higher levels.

Good Traits for The Sims 3's Culinary Career Track

Natural Cook
Of course the only trait that is directed at cooking helps with this career track. This will help your Sim to learn cooking faster, and produce higher quality meals.

Schmoozer
My stand-by trait for career tracks where your Sim needs to befriend the boss and co-workers pops up again here. Befriend them all early and your Sim will have a very easy climb to the top level job.

Has anyone else noticed that their sim stopped aging after they maxed this career and you started using the MinusOne Kelvin fridge that you get for reaching the top?
Admin:
This has never happened to me and I use this fridge in almost all of my games.  Are you sure you didn't purchase the age freeze potion or accidentally turn off aging?  You're not making massive amounts of ambrosia right?

Yes I'm positive. She can't catch Death fish, and I've never purchased the age freeze potion for any sim, but especially this one as its a legacy family. I checked everything I could think of. Aging is on, no age freeze potion, no ambrosia, no fountain of youth. It started when she maxed the career, adopted a baby girl and started using the fridge.
*NOTE: The baby is now an adult plantsim and aging just fine.
Admin:
Sounds like you have a glitched Sim. I know it's a legacy but in an effort to save the game - would you be willing to move to a new town. Especially with the new patch that came out today. That may help get her aging again. I've experienced this bug in the past and the only fix was moving towns or starting over.

Can't you do the reset sim? I mean my sisters sim stopped aging and she done none of the things above, She got me to type the resetsim (Name of sim)And it worked fine after than.

In your aging settings, is the "young adult" or "adult" setting an extremely high number?
I've had that setting randomly go up before (after a few downloads from SimResource), the day settings had gone up to like 600+ and my sim's children caught up in age lol.

Perfectionist Trait is also a good candidate for anyone in the Culinary career as it helps produce higher quality food early on.

So, is there anyway to become the boss through the career track? Or do I just have to buy out the restaurant?
6th September 2018 8:28pm
Playalot says...
Buying the restaurant and playing the culinary career are not related. Eventually your sim will be promoted to level 10 Five Star Chef which is the top of the career. If you buy a restaurant lot you will get the option to hire/fire sims but this is a different mechanic to playing the career.
