Carl's Sims 3 Guide - Skills, Traits, Careers, Rewards, and Lifetime Wishes for Ambitions and World Adventures

The Sims 3 Supernatural

Greener Gardens Lifetime Wish

by Pam Marsden

This walkthrough is for the new Greener Gardens Lifetime Wish that came with the Supernatural Expansion Pack. Some of you may recognize my Fairy, Indigo Dreamweaver. She was originally part of the second generation of my Dreamweaver Immortal Dynasty, although not the heir. I kept some of her original traits and gave her a couple of new ones that are appropriate for this Lifetime Wish.

Lifetime Wish: Greener Gardens - Make 100 plants grow using Bloom and reach level 10 of Gardening skill.

Indigo's traits:

Good
Insane
Gatherer
Loves the Outdoors
Excitable

All fairies automatically come with the Green Thumb trait, so I didn't assign that one to her. It would end up wasting a spot that can be used for something else. Like insane. Who is Indigo Dreamweaver if she's not insane, right? Fairies also have longer lifespans and Indigo started as a Young Adult with 104 days before she ages to Adult.

Indigo has a cat named Hannah, who first made an appearance in my Dreamweaver Townie DecaDynasty as part of the sixth generation of cats. She's one of the cutest cats I've had born to the family and I wanted to finally play her.

Indigo arrived in Moonlight Falls eager to test out her new fairy skills and grow a garden to rival her mother's. The starting household funds were $16,750. The cat brought a little extra in for pet supplies. She bought a small home called Affordable Elegance at 327 Knott Street for $12,853 unfurnished. It's somewhat larger than what she needs, but it's close to town and she's going to be visiting the Consignment Shop regularly.

By starting with an unfurnished house, I was able to spend Indigo's small amount of money on the most important things. First she got a Fairy Bungalow. She'll sleep in it and have parties. The only thing she needs the house for is a bathroom, kitchen, and a place to read and play with the cat. I also built a back porch and put a fence around the property to keep out those goofy zombies. The fence has no gate, which will keep the zombies out of Indigo's garden. I left all the Supernatural population control settings at the default setting with the exception of zombies. I used testing cheats to remove them, but they still turn up. I think maybe it only removes one or two at a time, so I'll keep using it and see if it helps.

After making all the purchases to get herself set up, she's got a little over 1,000 Simoleons left in family funds. That will be enough to purchase some pet supplies and tide her over until she starts making money from her gardening. She needs the MultiTab 6000 for this to all go smoothly and quickly, but it's $750, so it will have to wait a little while.

The first order of business was to learn Gardening and register as a self-employed Gardener. She also bought some produce at the grocery store and got her garden started. Because she can't afford the MultiTab 600 yet, she'll have to read skill books to increase her Gardening for now. She also has to increase her hidden fairy skill as this is what will allow her to make plants Bloom to achieve her Lifetime Wish. She'll be able to do this by using Auras, doing fairy tricks, and playing pranks. To start, she can only project the Aura of Soothing. Not only does it affect Indigo, but it will also affect Sims around her.

It didn't take long to advance to the second level of the hidden fairy magic skill. Soon Indigo could also produce the Aura of Creativity and grant the Flight of Felicity to other Sims. The first tricks she can play on others are Hot Headed and Chattering Teeth. Apparently, they can also backfire. Indigo tried to play the Hot Headed trick on Linda Rodgers, but got hot headed herself.

When Indigo earned enough happiness points for her first Lifetime Happiness Reward, I bought her the Observant reward. I always buy this one first for my Sims because it's so helpful when getting to know someone new. She'll probably be a bit of a social fairy, so she'll be thankful to know more about them when they first meet.

She then quickly moved on to the next level and was able to do Fairy Traps on toilets and showers. She immediately got a wish to set a Fairy Trap on an object. By the end of the day, she had reached the next level in the hidden Fairy skill and was able to use her Fairy form when repairing objects and had unlocked the Aura of Body and Mind, which would assist Sims with training. And then she reached the next level while she was sleeping in her Fairy Bungalow! It lets her do a Fairy Trap to a trash can and do the Tummy Twister trick on Sims.

The very next morning, Indigo had made it to level 5 of the hidden Fairy skills and could use Bloom on plants. It's only week 1, day 5. It would have happened much sooner if I hadn't accidentally let the game run for three Sim days without my knowledge. All she's had to do is use the Auras and play some tricks. It's not hard to do at all.

Her garden is still very small and all she could do one day was talk to her plants because her Gardening skill isn't high enough to weed them. I laughed when I saw that she was telling her plants jokes! I wonder if that's from her Insane trait or if maybe it's an addition to that interaction.

Indigo kept up her quest for a beautiful garden in spite of all of the zombies coming out of the ground and yelling that they can't get in the door. The thing that's supposed to remove supernatural creatures isn't working. I've been using the ResetSim cheat to get them off the lot because they don't do anything except make a lot of noise, which is incredibly annoying. Poor Indigo can't even afford to buy a peashooter yet.

Next up on Indigo's list of fairy things she can do are Fairy Trap a sofa or loveseat and the Skivvies trick. It takes very little effort to move up through the levels of the hidden Fairy skills. I'm a little surprised at how easy it really is.

For extra money, Indigo goes gathering around town. She befriended a falcon that sold for over $800 and an uncut Sunstone worth $427! Hannah also helps by hunting and selling what she catches. Another cat named Snowy has joined the household and is learning to hunt as well. And you know there will be kittens before long.

Indigo was finally able to purchase a MultiTab 6000. Her skilling for Gardening will pick up the pace now. The next good thing will be a Collection Helper, but she's quite a ways from having 40,000 happiness points to purchase it. She'll just keep pushing forward.

At the start of week 2, Indigo was able to teach other Sims the lesson of the Gold and the Toads. She definitely needs to give that one a try!

The zombie infestation continues and Indigo earned enough from the cut Sunstone to buy a peashooter. Yay!

Oh, yeah, the peashooter was fantastic until the 2nd zombie it attacked destroyed it!! Really?? Those things aren't cheap, you know. Indigo had to work hard to get enough money to buy the silly thing. How frustrating.

In spite of the frustration over the peashooter, Indigo reached the next level in her hidden Fairy skills and can now Fairy Trap the mailbox. I've never seen anyone messing with the mailbox, so I guess it's just the mail carrier who will get caught. Or not. It doesn't seem to bother him when he delivers the mail.

Indigo's household funds started to get into better shape from selling the collectibles and the critters caught by the cats. Her happiness points aren't great, though. She spent too much time on small wishes for collecting seeds, gems, and butterflies. It can be a lot of work sometimes just for 150 happiness points. She's going to focus on the larger wishes for awhile.

Near the end of week 2, Indigo got the Uncommonly Good opportunity. She'll be able to plant cheese and eggs once she's completed it. Her produce is already outstanding and perfect, so it's no trouble at all.

Indigo reached the top of her fairy skills on week 3, day 2. She could have gotten them much faster if I had paid more attention to them. With her final powers she got the ability to bestow Inner Beauty. She definitely needs to try that one out!

At this point, she also has 39 of her 100 needed Blooms. Again, it could have gone faster if I tried. Indigo has been enjoying her cats, as well as her gardening, so there's been no big rush. Hannah and Snowy have a litter of two kittens now. They have two little girls named Kim and Julia and they are so adorable!

On week 3, day 5, Indigo reached level 10 of her Gardening skill. She only has 30 more Blooms to do before she fulfills her Lifetime Wish. She's got a decent sized garden, but it may not take her all the way to 30. She's got a friend who has a garden, too, and that will help. At any rate, she will probably have it done by the end of the day or the next day at the latest. It depends on how fast her fairy powers drain.

The zombies are completely out of control now. Look at this picture. That's FIVE zombies on Indigo's lot all at the same time. That's just wrong.

Indigo achieved her Lifetime Wish for Greener Gardens on the morning of week 3, day 7. Remember that it could have gone much faster if I had paid more attention to some of the details. Besides, Indigo still has a long time until she ages to Adult, so I don't think she minds that I didn't push her through it faster. Now she can spend some time finding a husband and playing with her six cats. Yes, I said six.

It was so nice to see you again, Indigo Dreamweaver.
