Midnight Dreamweaver finished her obligation to her family and left them happily ensconced in Sunset Valley to live their new lives. It was time to move on for Midnight, so she traveled to Appaloosa Plains, hoping to find her own destiny.

Midnight's traits are: Charismatic, Cat Person, Friendly, Natural Cook, and Angler. The Cat Person trait is the only new trait from Pets that will directly help Midnight with her Lifetime Wish of befriending 15 cats. I struggled a little with the others and finally just decided on traits that will help her live the life she deserves after the burden of saving her entire family from their fates. I'm hoping that the Charismatic trait, along with the Charisma skill, will help her a little when it comes to asking people to bring their cats over for a visit.
There's no money to be made with cats, so Midnight will have to earn a living somehow. I'll let her decide on a career when she gets settled into her new home.
I bought Placer Place for her at 19440 Bob-O-Link Dr. It only cost $13,681 unfurnished and it's got a great location near town and right next door to the cat jungle. It's a good place to start. I only put in a single bed, a table, and one dining chair. Taking care of cats can get expensive and Midnight needs to hang on to every penny she can. She was left with $1,629.

Midnight is a smart girl. The first thing she wanted to do was get a job in the Culinary career. After hanging her diploma on the wall, she headed out to Kim Gould's Steakhouse and got a job as a level 1 Kitchen Scullion at $25 per hour. That's not a bad salary at all and it should be enough to get Midnight going. By learning the cooking skill, Midnight will also be able to make gourmet pet food for her kitties. It will give them a nice positive moodlet and may possibly make them live longer lives.
Midnight met her first kitten at the cat jungle. Oopsie-Daisy Marshall was there with her dad, Felipe Marshall. Oopsie-Daisy wanted to be friends, too. Midnight spent a lot of time with this adorable kitten, letting her sniff her hand, feeding her treats, petting, and playing chase. By late afternoon, the two were friends.

Before starting her new job, Midnight spent almost all of her money on a trip to China to gather some valuable items that can be sold to help her support herself until her salary picks up. This really is an ideal way to make a lot of money early in the game. The trip to China for a single Sim is $1,300 and by the time the books from the bookcase at Base Camp are sold, metal from the Telescopic Metal adventure is smelted and sold, and all the goodies found excavating have been analyzed and sold, your Sim will end up with close to $25,000.

Midnight spent part of her money on a new bedroom suit, upgraded kitchen appliances, and some living room furniture. Ok, she went overboard a bit on the bedroom. But a girl's got to have some fun! And even with this influx of cash, Midnight is going to keep her job for awhile so she can make some friends.

Near the end of week one, Midnight checked the paper to see what cats are available for adoption at the shelter. There were some kittens and adult cats, but the one that caught her eye was an elderly female named Mura. She was about one-third of the way through her final life phase when she came to live with Midnight. Elderly cats deserve to live out their days in a loving home, safe and secure. Mura has the Hunter trait and she's a beautiful girl.

Soon after getting Mura settled in, Midnight adopted another cat from the shelter. This time it was an elder male named Sammy. He's a Ragdoll pure bred and he's a very handsome guy.. Now Midnight has her hands full trying to make friends with both of her cats.

Midnight took a second trip to China to add to her family funds. She brought home almost $15,000 in metals and gems once they were smelted and cut. The money let Midnight expand her small house to make room for more kitties. Now she's got a large dining room, a nice deck, and an inexpensive pet house, which is necessary for Trying for Kittens.

With household funds well over $20,000, Midnight decided to take an unpaid leave of absence from work to take a week to spend with her cats and to search out other cats in the neighborhood. She struck gold when she found the Lionheart household. They have four cats living there: Mothball, Maria, Muffin, and Pickles. The other neighborhood cats are Mozart Miller and Babycakes Loveland. Petunia Curley had already died before Midnight got a chance to befriend her. Knowing where they live is a good first step toward making them her friends.
Midnight, Mura, and Sammy loved their time together. They were all best friends. Midnight got a wish to adopt another cat. There were no pets for adoption in town, so she checked the shelter. There was a brown kitten named Wisker. She'd been at the shelter for awhile and it was time to give her a home. My plan was to let Wisker grow up and then hopefully have kittens with Sammy. Wisker had other plans and aged up before she got home. There should be kittens before much longer.

Mura has close to 10,000 happiness points, but I haven't spent any of them yet. She's already a good cat and I'm rather hoping that she can get a nice reward before she passes on. She's only got a couple more days left. Midnight has been spending extra time with her old girl. She'll be heartbroken when Mura's gone. The next day, Mura was able to buy the Pet Hygienator.

Midnight has been accruing happiness points, too. Not a huge amount, but enough to buy the Observant, No Bills Ever, and Steel Bladder rewards to go with her Legendary Host reward. She hosted a couple of parties and the Legendary Host reward guaranteed that everyone invited would attend. This turned out to be a good opportunity to get to know the cat owners around town.
Sammy and Wisker soon became the proud parents of twin boys named Ratchet and Turbo. They were so adorable with their half-and-half looks. The boys were identical except for the length of their fur. This is the second time that I've had such a pair of twins in the game.

When it came time for Midnight to return to work after her leave of absence, I had her quit her job. The money in her household funds was stable and a full time job was just too much time away from the kitties. She had been making good progress and had 5 kitty friends when she was falsely accused of some nonsense. Poor Midnight didn't even want to be a celebrity, but when she delivered some food for an opportunity, she accidentally made it to the first celebrity star. Because of the accusation, she lost several friends and dropped down to only one cat friend. Winning the slander lawsuit didn't do anything to repair the friendships and Midnight had to work hard to regain them. This was a hard blow to achieving her Lifetime Wish.
In an effort to increase the cat population in Appaloosa Plains so that Midnight would have more kitties to befriend, I let Sammy also mate with Oopsie-Daisy Marshall. A couple of days after the twins were born to Wisker, Oopsie-Daisy gave birth to triplets! Again, like Ratchet and Turbo, these kittens look to be identical except for the length of their fur. They also look very much like Wisker's kittens except they are grey instead of brown. The girl is named Kim and the two boys are named Elijah and Fester. Fester is the one with short fur. All five kittens show up on Sammy's family tree. Not bad for an old guy. Sammy is right behind Mura in age. He's 48 days old and Mura is 52. Mura was too old to have kittens when she came to live with Midnight, so having some kittens from Sammy will be nice. He's a beautiful old man and a wonderful pet. After Oopsie-Daisy's triplets were born, Sammy and Wisker had another kitten named Duchess. She looks very much like her older brothers, but she's got white on her face.

Mura died at age 54 days. The household mourned for two days and everyone's mood was terribly low. It was challenging keeping the cats in a good mood because the mourning moodlet was -40. I had them play, eat gourmet food, and groom each other to give them some positive moodlets to make up for the mourning.

The household had barely gotten over Mura's death when Sammy died. I really hated to see him go. He had enough points to purchase the Young Again potion, but I didn't give it to him because I wanted to be able to bring more cats into the household for Midnight to befriend. So, sweet Sammy went with Grim when the time came and the entire household went back into mourning. Mura and Sammy are buried side by side in a small patch in the back yard.

Midnight had a wish to adopt another cat. Patch was a handsome elder male and came to live with his new family. He's white with orange and black patches, hence his name. Incidentally, in the real world if a cat has orange and black touching, it will almost always be a female. Males generally don't carry the gene for orange and black together. If they do, it's very rare. I guess that makes Patch extra special. He's getting to know everyone, and hopefully he and Duchess will eventually have a kitten together.

All of the kittens grew up within days of each other. Oopsie-Daisy's triplets aged up at the same time. Midnight still spends time at the Marshall household to make friends with Kim, Elijah, and Fester. It looks like there are more kittens in the neighborhood, too, because the Lionheart household has kittens for adoption. A trip to visit them is in order. At this point, Midnight has 7 out of the required feline friends. She's just had her adult birthday and it's week 5, day 5 of the game.

While at the cat jungle, Midnight spotted what looked like a Siamese cat by the name of Mojo. She interacted with him a few times and then was able to pick him up. I sent her home while carrying him and he ended up staying at her house for two or three days. It was enough time for her to make friends with him before he headed back to his home.

Midnight's next Lifetime Happiness Reward was Raised with Wolves for 20,000 points. This lets her gain more social fulfillment from interacting with pets. After obtaining this reward, Midnight started being able to make friends with the kittens quicker. She had gotten a call from her friend, Leah Titus, that they just had kittens and Midnight went to visit the little cuties. She was able to make friends with both of the kittens (Fester and Maya) and with the the mother cat (Misty) during her visit.

After one more trip to the Marshall household to befriend the last of Oopsie-Daisy's triplets, Fester (yes, there are two Festers), Midnight had only one more kitty friend to make in order to fulfill her Lifetime Wish and that little one lived right in her own house. Duchess' little kitten, Duke, would complete the deal. She went back home and had the little guy befriended before bedtime on week 6, day 3.

Midnight was 15 days away from aging to elder when she completed her Lifetime Wish. Congratulations, sweet Midnight!
