This trait is useful for sims who plan to befriend animals if you don't want to befriend animals their is no reason to choose this trait if you are optimizing your traits, spefically those are trying to befriend to variety of animals namely to get a unicorn making it useful for the fairy tail finder LTW, it's outclassed by Cat Lover, Dog Lover, and equestrian if you're only trying befriend on type of animal but one thing I am unsure is if those traits are allowed on the same sim as animal lover if so then take both if want to do the cat herder LTW etc. but if you can only pick one go with the speciality traits if you wanna deal with type of animal. If your sim roles this trait and you don't wanna deal animals just ignore it there is not negative moodlet for not interacting with animals.
