The Sims 3 Meditative Trance Sleep Lifetime Reward

Meditative Trance Sleep
Lifetime Happiness Points: 30,000
This reward will let your Sim get by with 20% less sleep, as I've confirmed through testing. The time saved will help your Sim to get more done each day. It's perhaps more useful for self-employed Sims as they will be able to spend more time with their pursuits. Career-oriented Sims and parents will find it helpful too, there just might be better rewards to save up for.

So i've got this reward many times, and it works well. Except when it doesn't. I counted, and it did cut several hours out of my sim's sleeping schedule.
But now, with the hover bed and this reward, my sim has gone back to 7-8 hour sleeps. Googling this issue suggests that it's a reaaaally old one they STILL haven't fixed. x.x
